What is unitechange?

Unitechange.org tells stories.

Unitechange.org is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to changing the way people interact with the causes they support. Our donors build sustainable projects in under-served communities throughout the world, and we show them how they are making a difference.

Donors often give to charities without really seeing how their money is changing lives for the better.  The mission of unitechange.org is to bridge this gap by defining a clear objective (e.g., build a school for a community in Kenya), restricting all funds to the particular project until the objective is met, and providing donors with continual updates  and media from the project site.

Unitechange.org was founded in May 2010.

Unitechange.org began when a few friends came together to talk about how they could make a difference in the world.  They each had a favorite charity they knew was doing great work, but they all felt a disconnect between what they knew and what they saw.  Wouldn’t it be great to see exactly how our donations are changing lives?  The friends decided to answer this question, and in May 2010 they founded unitechange.org at their favorite coffee shop.  A few months later, the founders identified a pilot project in Kenya that would allow them to put their idea to practice.
